Roasted Hosui Pear.

With chocolate orange whip and pistachio pepita crumble, this dessert’s decadence will have your tongue doing a happy dance. Makes 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 2 Hosui Asian pears

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • ⅓ cup pistachios, chopped

  • ⅓ cup pepitas

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp sugar, granulated

  • 1 tsp salt

  • Fresh mint

Instructions

  1. Roasted Hosui Pears:
    Cut the Hosui Asian Pears in half lengthwise and core. Bake at 350F for 20-30 min or until soft. Let cool prior to serving.

  2. Chocolate Orange Whip:
    Combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, cocoa powder and orange zest in a stand mixer and whip until medium peaks form. Set aside in the fridge.

  3. Pistachio Pepita Crumble:
    Melt the butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Stir in the pepitas and chopped pistachios, and toast for 5 minutes. Stir in the sugar and salt. Let cool on a sheet tray with wax paper.

  4. To Arrange:
    Spoon the Chocolate Orange Whip evenly amongst four bowls. Place a Roasted Hosui Pear in the center. Sprinkle the Pistachio Pepita Crumble around the outside of the pear. Garnish with mint and enjoy!
