Innkeeping Assistant Couple

Join our full time, multi-faceted team while living onsite

Are you and a partner looking to join a tight knit and hard-working team? Ready to deliver outstanding experiences for guests, within a unique desert canyon?

We are a small orchard & country inn in Southern AZ whose focus is to help others reconnect with themselves, their loved ones and nature. We strive to provide the highest level of hospitality and service across all facets of our operation. The inn consists of 9 rooms/casitas and offers nutritious meals while attracting down-to-earth visitors. The orchard consists of about 800 stone fruit & citrus trees and a small garden growing veggies and herbs. We also have a few animal friends, including 10 chickens, two goats, two mini-horses and a mini-donkey.

We are very remote, located 5 miles from the West Entrance of Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness Area, which is an extremely unique and well protected desert riparian habitat that attracts hikers, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. We are located about 1.5 hours NE of Tucson, and 2 hours SE of Phoenix, between Oracle and Kearny.

Being a self-starter and the ability to work under little to no supervision is imperative. We are a very small and close-knit staff, so being reliable and consistent is important to make sure that everyone on the team can get tasks completed in a timely manner.

Depending on your skillset, your daily tasks will vary. It could include anything from cooking, guest services, grounds, maintenance, orchard work, housekeeping, and sometimes random things that guests or the property might need.

Your responsibilities will include some of the following:

Housekeeping - The casitas need daily tending, which includes doing dishes, laundry, trash pickup and helping guests with any requests they may have. You will also be responsible for inspecting units before guest arrivals, so high cleanliness standards are necessary. On occasion, they will need to be cleaned in-house, so housekeeping experience is a bonus.

Cooking - Dinners are offered 5 days a week and are cooked on-site by various members of our staff. We also offer a short café menu that was created by our staff to show off some of their favorite things. Having someone that enjoys cooking on a small scale is a plus.

Guest Services & Reservations - If you’re a people person, we’ll train you to make reservations, check guests in and out, take payments and generally make guests feel at home. On occasion, we will have groups that rent out the entire property, this is when our guest service must truly shine for all of our staff members.

Animal Care - These duties are shared and rotated with all staff, which include tending to all the animals on the farm. Their health and well-being are one of our top priorities out here. When you are tasked with animal care, we expect you to treat them like your own.

Grounds & Orchard – Grounds maintenance and orchard maintenance are constant. Weed whacking, plant maintenance, pool care, thinning and pruning trees, and harvesting fruit make it so there is always something to do.

Compensation includes $16 per hour, housing, all utilities and internet provided.

The average schedule is 30-40 hours per week and is always subject to change. You must be able to work holidays, weekends, and occasional evenings, as needed. The position is open to start as early as May 1st, 2024. We ask for at least a 6-month commitment with preference given to those who can stay through September or longer.

A valid driver’s license is required, and you must be able to pass a background & reference check. You must have your own reliable vehicle that can handle a remote, hilly, dirt road and a small creek crossing (6-10 inches of water, typically).

Please send us an email with resumes to info@aravaipafarms.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
