We are a small orchard & country inn whose focus is to help others reconnect with themselves, their loved ones and nature. We strive to provide the highest level of hospitality and service across all facets of our operation. The inn consists of 9 rooms/casitas and offers nutritious meals while attracting down-to-earth visitors. The orchard consists of about 900 stone fruit & citrus trees and an 11,000 sq ft garden growing veggies and herbs. We are very remote, located 5 miles from the West Entrance of Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness Area, which is an extremely unique and well protected desert riparian habitat that attracts hikers, birders and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. We are located about 1.5 hours NE of Tucson, and 2 hours SE of Phoenix, between Mammoth and Winkelman.

We are looking for people who are interested in assisting with general housekeeping and laundry duties. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Cleaning Rooms - We hold a very high standard for cleanliness for our inn! An average cleaning of the “casitas” will include vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing, cleaning windows, cleaning showers and toilets, removing trash and dirty dishes, and changing the linens and bedsheets.

• Restocking & Organizing - After the rooms are cleaned, they need to be restocked with clean dishes, towels and other items. Furniture should be arranged to its original location if it was moved and outdoor patios should look comfortable and ready to present to guests. Attention to detail here is key!

• Laundry - Laundry is never ending for our small inn! You may be asked to do a full day’s worth of a laundry shift, or be asked to help with laundry for a few hours. Either way, this is a critical part of the daily operations. Tasks include picking up dirty linens, loading the washing machine and dryers, folding clean linens and organizing clean linens into their proper storage locations.

• Cleaning Dishes - Dishes are also never ending, and sometimes the kitchen staff needs help with dishes as well. You will help bring dirty dishes back from the rooms, clean them in our commercial dishwasher, and then restock them to the casitas or help put them away in storage as needed.

• Communicate with the Team - We all work together to get the job done, and communication is the most important aspect of that. Whether you are offering help, or asking for help, we ask that you communicate openly, honestly and frequently.

The work day typically starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 2-4 p.m., depending on the needs for the day. You must be able to work holidays and weekends, as needed. You’ll join our team of 5 other part time housekeepers and 7 other full time staff. Our guiding principles are to be kind, responsible, knowledgeable and welcoming so if this speaks to you then you will be a perfect fit!

The position is open to start immediately and can be either a year round position or seasonal position. We ask for at least a 4 month commitment with preference given to those who can stay year round. Hourly wage is $13 per hour and paychecks go out twice per month.

A valid driver’s license is required, and you must be able to pass a background & reference check. You must have your own reliable vehicle that can handle a hilly, dirt road and a small creek crossing (6-10 inches of water, typically).
